Which Assessments are available, and how much do they cost?
There are three formal assessment options currently being offered by the team including: Comprehensive Psychoeducational Assessments, Adult ADHD, and Gifted Assessments.
Comprehensive Psychoeducational Assessments
If you have been told by a health care provider or school personnel that you should be seeking an assessment for a child, we recommend you consider completing a Comprehensive Psychoeducational Assessment. This may also be beneficial for post-secondary students in need of an updated assessment or if they are finding post-secondary significantly challenging. These assessments typically include:
- Collection of school records, report cards, and previous assessment reports (e.g., speech and language, occupational therapy, pediatrician/general practitioner, mental health evaluation).
- Comprehensive determination of your child’s cognitive profile and academic achievement (including giftedness).
- Teachers and parent’s completion of digital questionnaires rating the child’s socioemotional functioning, executive function skills, and adaptive skills areas.
- Diagnosis of specific learning disorders in reading (dyslexia), writing (dysgraphia), math (dyscalculia), attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), intellectual disabilities, and anxiety.
Cost
A full report with results and recommendations is $2,420.
Gifted Assessments
If you are seeking acceptance into a specific school within the Calgary Region (such as GATE or Westmount Charter School), we recommend you consider completing a Gifted Assessment. This assessment explores cognitive and exceptional intellectual abilities. These assessments typically include:
- Understanding of your child’s cognitive profile and academic achievement, specifically as it relates to giftedness.
- Appropriateness for enrolment in the GATE program and Westmount Charter School.
Cost
With a complete report, the cost is $1,320. Without a report, the cost is $660, depending on results.
Adult ADHD Assessments
If you have had longstanding challenges with focus, emotional regulation, impulsivity, organization, planning, and forgetfulness, an adult ADHD assessment may be beneficial. These assessments typically include:
- Clinical interview outlining history of challenges, family background, and current presenting challenges.
- Comprehensive testing of cognitive abilities.
- Completion of digital questionnaires that assess attention, impulsivity, and executive functioning.
Cost
Total cost for an Adult ADHD assessment is $1980.00
